Throw in the diamond…plus mouth taping, chewing a little adversity!

The Big Apple!

I am returning from a whirlwind girls weekend in New York City with my mom. My niece Grace turned 16 and this was her weekend to take in the Big Apple, with her mom Tracy, Andie and me. It was really special, with the quality time allowing for plenty laughs and in depth discussions, which gave way for interesting subjects and truth serum. Just what you need with teenage girls!

These are memories you want captured and remembered. I was 10 when I first experienced New York City and have been lucky enough to be back a dozen or so times. Each time I take in something new. This was my first time back since the completion of the 911 Memorial Museum. It was intense, visual, educational, and emotional. Those behind the design, concept and vision did an amazing job. If you have plans to visit the city- be sure to give yourself 2-3 hours to take in the memorial.

The Fun of NYC

Of course there was plenty of window shopping, a few purchases, pictures in Time Square, a Broadway musical ( Mean Girls) and late dinners. The highlight may have been when Grace managed to try on a 1.6 million dollar ring at Tiffany’s. The sales person was totally on board, knowing we had no intention to purchase and helped play along. Only in NYC 🙂

A new podcast will be released later today with Lance Essihos, the host of the popular podcast “University of Adversity”.

The word “Adversity” is described as unfavorable fortune or fate- a condition marked by misfortune, calamity or distress. Used in a sentence “Friends will show their true colors in times of adversity”.

It’s synonyms include- catastrophe, disaster, misery…Its antonym is prosperity…
Talk to successful people about their adversities and usually you find their road to prosperity- at least Lance Essihos seems to have found that.

Lance is a true Canadian boy from out west, former junior hockey player, professional bartender, and once professional drinker, someone who has hit rock bottom, and someone who is learning and sharing all aspects of adversity- learning from others and being inspired by other on his podcast “The University of Adversity”.  Learn how to shift your perspective on adversity by understanding that although adversity may feel like your worst enemy, it is actually your greatest ally. His mission is to connect with unique and inspiring individuals and showcase their journey and what they have gone through in order to become successful in their lives. Lance joins us from Vancouver. https://www.lanceessihos.com/

It’s a busy week for the podcast. With additional tapings as well from the States.
