100 and counting…

Surprise!!

I was jumping for joy last week when I saw that I had a 100% open rate on the newsletter. “Too Good To Be True” ? Of course it was!

It seems that I somehow messed up and only sent it to myself. What a waste! I spent so much time talking about the process of releasing my first solo podcast to mark the 100th episode of “Living Your Life w Lianne Laing”. A part of me just wanted to copy and paste last weeks letter- but too much has happened since then.

On my 100th Episode!

Firstly, a sincere thank you for all the messages that came in once the 100th episode came out. If you listened you knew how vulnerable and emotional it was. I am grateful for those of you who mentioned how it touched you or inspired you in some way.  It was my intention to share as much as possible. All in an effort that nobody feels they are going through things on their own. We are striving to live our best lives. Sometimes that means making decisions that scare us and doing things out of our comfort zone. For those who haven’t listened yet- what are you waiting for?

I did in fact pop a small bottle of bubbly when I finished recording.
I was told as a solo-preneur that sometimes you need to take a moment and celebrate the small victories. So I did.
Plus I can’t wait to see what the next 100 brings.

Great Finds in Reading!

Now, if you listened to the entire podcast, you heard me mention some of the books and mentors who have been part of this journey for me. Many of these books never crossed my mind two years ago. In fact I would have been running in the opposite direction had someone mentioned meditation. However, since the meditation and mindfulness have become a huge component of my personal shift, this book was a gift in finding.

“10% Happier- How I Tamed The Voice In My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, And Found Self-Help That Actually Works- A True Story” by Dan Harris. I may have felt a kinship with Dan since his background is also in the world of television. But on a much larger scale as an Emmy- Award winning anchor and correspond for ABC News amongst other things.

He puts a great spin on the inner voice in our heads. The one who always has something to say and usually derails us from our potential. He talks about his initial thoughts about meditation. Why he, like so many of us, fought trying it for so long. How its changed him for the better, rewiring our brains and so much more.

If you have someone who has started meditating or who has talked about starting, I think its a great purchase 🙂
Plus he now hosts one of the top podcasts in the world called…you guessed it…The Ten Percent Happier Podcast 🙂

Living Your Life w Lianne Laing:

This week’s release hits on a topic that goes much deeper than what we see on the surface. We dive into the world of plastic surgery- although I promise you, not from the “House Wives Of Beverly Hills” standpoint.  Please don’t envision nose jobs, tummy tucks, liposuction, face lifts, and breast augmentations. I truly am not looking to offend- but the reality is, plastic surgeons and their work goes far beyond esthetics and often deeper into health benefits, comfort, reconstruction and improved quality of life. Sometimes, the solution can be found in procedures we hadn’t considered.

Dr Trefor Nodwell from The Ottawa Clinic comes to us with a number of degrees, awards and accredited fellowships. He also comes with some interesting and honest outlooks on the background behind the work, as well as how it’s helping certain health conditions one may not have thought of- from burns, to headaches to excessive sweating- there are certain treatments which fall under medial and cosmetic surgery and dermatology.

You can find more information about the subject matter we will be discussing and the services at http://www.theottawaclinic.com

Ive also got a busy week of additional topics and podcasts as we get set for the holiday season and New Years topics.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Much Love,
Lianne xo
